There are people who, if you take them to a rosebush, will count the thorns. First they will count thorns-- roses don't matter, what matters is thorns-- and then, when their fingers are bloody and hurting they become so angry, and their eyes become so antagonistic towards the rosebush, that it becomes impossible to see the roses.
